The Annual General Assembly of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce was held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Athenaeum Intercontinental hotel, with the necessary quorum and participation of its members and with great success.
The meeting began with a greeting from President Ioannis D. Sarakakis to the members of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce. The President referred to the Chamber’s strategy and rebranding, emphasizing that: “An entity with the history of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce must not only manage the present but also prepare the future. And this is the main message of today’s assembly:
Now, together we begin the next chapter of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce. As the natural and evolutionary continuation of a great journey. With respect for our history, with confidence in our members, and with ambition for the role we can play in the coming years.”
The US Ambassador to Athens, Kimberly Guilfoyle participated as keynote speaker and referred to the business environment between the US and Greece and the excellent cooperation between the American Embassy and the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce in Athens: “Our work will ultimately be judged not by words, but by tangible results and meaningful achievements.
Together, we have already achieved significant agreements in the energy sector and historic milestones that demonstrate what energy security means in practice. Equally important progress is being recorded in artificial intelligence, critical minerals, resilient supply chains, and investment cooperation. Organizations like yours are irreplaceable partners on this common path.
Your leadership, participation, and commitment turn our shared ambitions into lasting progress. The challenge we address to you is simple: let us achieve even more together.”
Rania Aikaterinari, Chair of the Executive Committee and Vice President of SEV, stated that: “Productivity is the great national bet of the next decade. To win it, we need more investments, faster adoption of technology, innovation ecosystems, and strategic partnerships.
The strong economic relations between Greece and the United States are not only about trade or investments. They constitute a channel for the transfer of knowledge, technology, and innovation that strengthens the country’s competitiveness. In this context, SEV’s cooperation with the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce acquires particular strategic value.”
Elias Spyrtounias, Executive Director, Athens, presented the management report of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce for 2025, Katerina Sokou, Executive Director Washington, presented the activities of the Office in Washington. Chrysos Kavounidis, Treasurer, of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, presented the financial results of 2025.
