The effort of the male and female athletes preparing for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games is being supported by elin, offering free fuel cards to 48 members of the Pre-Olympic Team, as part of its multi-year sponsorship partnership with the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC).
With this specific initiative, elin makes a substantial contribution to covering a significant part of the transportation of the athletes to their training sessions and competitions, so that they can focus undistracted on their goals, because behind every sporting distinction lie years of effort, dedication, and daily sacrifices.
The initiative concerns male and female athletes from 23 different sports, reflecting the breadth and dynamism of the Greek sporting effort. The cards were presented at an event of the HOC's Olympic Preparation Committee, in the presence of its president, Dimosthenis Gyrousis, as well as the president of the HOC, Isidoros Kouvelos.
The president of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos, stated: «I want to say a big thank you to elin, which is always close to us and supports many activities of the Hellenic Olympic Committee with its fuels, such as the Torch Relay and the Olympic Flame Ceremonies. This sponsorship is very important, because it will give many athletes of the Pre-Olympic Team the opportunity to deal with a significant expense, especially after the increase in fuel prices.
Also, I want to tell the athletes, as well as the Federations that are here, that the Hellenic Olympic Committee is close to you and will continue to support the effort to reach the first distinction, which for me is qualification for the Olympic Games».
On behalf of the male and female athletes, wrestling champion Maria Prevolaraki said: «I want to thank elin for this important initiative, which helps us in a difficult time. Also, a big thank you to the Hellenic Olympic Committee, which is constantly by our side and supports us in every way».
