Elin is supporting the efforts of male and female athletes preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games by offering free fuel cards to 48 members of the Pre-Olympic Team, as part of its long-standing sponsorship partnership with the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC).
Through this initiative, elin makes a substantial contribution toward covering a significant portion of the athletes’ travel expenses to their training sessions and competitions, so that they can focus undistracted on their goals—because behind every athletic achievement lie years of effort, dedication, and daily sacrifices.
The initiative covers male and female athletes from 23 different sports, reflecting the breadth and dynamism of Greek athletic endeavors. The cards were presented at an event organized by the Hellenic Olympic Committee’s Olympic Preparation Committee, attended by its president, Demosthenes Gyrousis, as well as the president of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos.
The president of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos, stated: “I would like to express my sincere thanks to elin, which is always by our side and supports many of the Greek Olympic Committee’s initiatives with its fuel, such as the Torch Relay and the Olympic Flame Ceremonies. This sponsorship is very important because it will enable many athletes on the Pre-Olympic Team to cover a significant expense, especially following the rise in fuel prices.
I also want to tell the athletes, as well as the federations represented here, that the Hellenic Olympic Committee stands with you and will continue to support your efforts to achieve our first major goal, which for me is qualifying for the Olympic Games.”
On behalf of the athletes, wrestling champion Maria Prevolaraki said: “I want to thank ELIN for this important initiative, which is helping us during a difficult time. Also, a big thank you to the Hellenic Olympic Committee, which is always by our side and supports us in every way.”

This initiative builds on elin’s long-standing commitment to Greek sports and the Olympic ideal. In total, the company currently supports 49 top male and female athletes; in addition to the 48 members of the Pre-Olympic Team, since 2022 it has also been supporting Olympic long jump champion Milto Tentoglou, an athlete who stands as a timeless icon for Greek sports, thanks to his career, his character, and his achievements.
