The regular monthly meeting of New Democracy party officials in Heraklion, convened by Heraklion MP and former minister Lefteris Avgenakis, began with a minute of silence in memory of Vagia Nestora.
Referring to the tragic murder of Vagia Nestora, Lefteris Avgenakis expressed his deep sorrow and called on everyone to stand united against all forms of violence and terrorism. He emphasized that democracy will not be intimidated and that New Democracy will not be terrorized or cowed by such criminal acts. At the same time, he underscored his absolute confidence in the institutions and the justice system, expressing his certainty that those responsible will be identified and held accountable for their actions.
The meeting took place as part of the regular monthly working meetings held by Lefteris Avgenakis with party officials in the prefecture, with the aim of improving coordination and preparing the party ahead of the election campaign.

During the meeting, participants discussed political developments, the progress of major development projects being implemented in Crete, as well as the party’s priorities for the coming period, with an emphasis on maintaining a constant presence alongside citizens, engaging in open dialogue with society, and strengthening the relationship of trust with citizens.
The meeting was attended by members of the Heraklion Municipal Executive Committee (D.E.E.P.), the Municipal Local Organizations (DIM.T.O.) of the prefecture, officials running for office on the slates of the three Chambers of Heraklion, as well as officials from the Heraklion Medical and Agricultural Associations.
