Anytime’s Short Drive is the first insurance plan in Greece with a certified CO₂ emissions calculation, as well as the first app that provides drivers with personalized information on the emissions associated with their trips. At the same time, an equal amount of emissions is offset annually based on the fuel consumption of the program’s portfolio.
Short Drive is based on the “pay as you drive” model, linking car insurance to the actual kilometers driven by the driver. By installing the Beacon device in the vehicle and connecting it to the app, trips are automatically tracked without any additional steps. Through the app, drivers gain a better understanding of their vehicle usage as well as the CO₂ emissions associated with their trips.
In 2025, 9,113 active insurance policies participated in the program, with total trips exceeding 23.8 million kilometers. Based on usage data, the resulting total emissions were calculated at 4,476 metric tons of CO₂e. This amount was offset through certified carbon credits derived from a wind energy project, as part of an international United Nations program to reduce emissions.
The verification of the emissions calculation process was certified by the recognized certification body EUROCERT, an accredited greenhouse gas emissions verification body, in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14064-3 standard. At the same time, the presentation of the relevant environmental information takes into account the principles of the ISO 14021 standard, in accordance with international standards for greenhouse gas emissions verification. Through this process, Anytime is introducing transparency regarding the environmental footprint of travel into auto insurance for the first time, leveraging technology to provide drivers with more personalized information and a better understanding of their vehicle usage.
