Initiatives totaling 140 million euros in public funding to support investment projects by existing, new, and start-up small, medium, and large enterprises in the Mainland Regions of Just Transition (DAM), have been announced by decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis.
Specifically, the initiative—which aims to support the productive reconstruction of regions affected by the energy transition—is directed at businesses operating in the Region of Western Macedonia, as well as in the municipalities of Megalopolis, Oichalia, Gortynia, and Tripoli in the Peloponnese Region, by supporting investments that contribute to technological modernization, the upgrading of production capacity, and the improvement of business competitiveness.
According to the relevant announcement, funding applications pertain to investment projects with a subsidized budget ranging from 300,000 euros to 12,000,000 euros for SMEs and from 5,000,000 euros to 40,000,000 euros for large enterprises. The aid intensity is:
- 50% for large enterprises,
- 60% for medium-sized enterprises,
- 70% for small and micro-enterprises.
Eligible expenses fall, by way of example, into the following categories:
- Tangible and intangible assets (Article 14 of the General Accounting Code):
- Buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas
- Purchase of a building
- Equipment
- Software
- Environmentally friendly vehicles
- Product and process certifications
- Patents
- Energy production from renewable sources (Article 41 of the General Accounting Code):
- Capital expenditures for energy production from renewable energy sources, including heat pumps, as well as electricity storage systems to meet on-site needs (self-consumption)
- Employment of workers with disabilities (Article 33 of the General Implementation Regulation)
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via the Integrated State Aid Information System, from July 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. through September 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
