The Municipality of Kallithea is proceeding with a one-time financial support amounting to 1,000 euros for every new child that is born, in the context of supporting the new family, by decision of the Municipal Council (31 August 2026), as it informs its citizens.
The municipality states that the relevant initiative had started in 2024, however its “implementation encountered unbelievable bureaucracy, rigidities and obstacles”.
The support is paid retroactively for children who have been born from 1 July 2024 onwards, as provided by law, provided that the following conditions are met:
Beneficiaries are financially vulnerable permanent residents and registered citizens of the Municipality of Kallithea, who must:
-Be registered citizens in the Municipality of Kallithea for at least two years.
-Be Greek citizens or be taxed in Greece for at least twelve (12) years before the year of the child’s birth.
-Have a family income of up to 27,000 euros (19,000 euros in the case of a single-parent family).
It is noted that the above income limits are increased by 1,000 euros for each additional child.
The granting of the support is carried out after verification of the conditions and the necessary supporting documents by the competent municipal services.
