The new ambassador of France to Greece, Nicolas Kassianides, arrived in Athens on Monday, 7 September 2026.
A career diplomat, Nicolas Kassianides worked throughout his career on issues related to North Africa and the Middle East, the Eastern Mediterranean, the United Nations, as well as the promotion of culture and cultural heritage.
Born in Montpellier (Montpellier), to a French mother and a French-Cypriot father, he is a graduate of the School of Advanced Commercial Studies (HEC) and the Institute of Political Studies (IEP) of Paris, while he attended the National School of Public Administration (ENA).
His appointment reflects the intention of the French authorities to strengthen the Greek-French strategic partnership, and the cooperation of the two countries in all sectors.
“It is a great honor for me to represent France in Greece and to work, on the ground, so that this unique partnership may develop and bear fruit,” the ambassador said.
