The implementing arrangement between the Hellenic Republic and the Italian Republic for the acquisition of two Italian FREMM-type frigates, costing 400 million euros, is being signed today, Tuesday, at noon in Rome.
Present at the signing will be Defense Minister Nikos Dendias and his Italian counterpart Guido Crosetto, who will discuss international and regional developments, the situation in the Mediterranean and the Western Balkans, European defense, and bilateral defense cooperation.
The first frigate is expected in Greece in the first half of 2028 and the second one a year later.
Greece is interested in two more FREMM frigates from the Italian Navy, something that has been communicated to the Italian side.
