The Joint Ministerial Decision was signed by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Evangelos Tournas and the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Athanasios Petralias, which determines the amount, terms, and conditions for granting the command allowance to the uniformed personnel of the Fire Service.
As the relevant announcement notes, the decision completes the institutional framework for the payment of the command allowance to Fire Service officers who perform command duties in the central, regional, and special services of the Corps. The amount of the allowance varies depending on the position and level of responsibility and ranges from 80 to 500 euros per month.
The Joint Ministerial Decision comes into force on 1 October 2025, thus providing for the retroactive payment of the allowance from that date.
The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tournas, stated:

With the issuance of the Joint Ministerial Decision, we complete the process and tangibly recognize the increased responsibility assumed by officers performing command duties. The personnel of the Fire Service are on the front line every day and supporting them is a constant priority. In this direction, we will continue consistently.”
