Starting from San Francisco (on Monday, September 21) and contacts with high-tech companies and Greeks active in Silicon Valley, the Prime Minister's visit to the US begins, for the 81st High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly.
The Prime Minister's program in New York (September 23-25) this year is dominated by the investment sector. Specifically, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will participate in a roundtable with more than 30 institutional investors with exposure to Greece and the largest Greek companies.
He will also have contacts with the heads and senior executives of the most important international financial institutions, with key topics on the agenda being international developments in the sectors of energy, defense, technology and service provision.
The Prime Minister will have the opportunity to underline the substantial progress of the Greek economy, the government's commitment to fiscal stability and the further promotion of reforms, which has already resulted in the continuous increase of investments as a percentage of GDP and the achievement of record performances in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
He will also emphasize that Greece is a safe and welcoming country for the establishment of the regional activities of international companies, with a particularly favorable tax regime for their executives.
On Monday, September 21 and Tuesday, September 22, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be in San Francisco. He will have contacts with high-tech companies and Greeks active in Silicon Valley. On September 22 he will be at Stanford University, where he will speak at a closed event hosted by the Hoover Institution with the participation of former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
The Prime Minister will then travel to New York. He will deliver his speech before the UN General Assembly on Thursday, September 24 in the afternoon (local time). Earlier the same day he will have a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, at the United Nations headquarters.
On the same day he will participate in an event on artificial intelligence at Columbia University.
On the morning of Wednesday, September 23, the Prime Minister will participate in the opening event of the OceanEye Global Alliance, under the co-chairmanship of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney. The European OceanEye initiative is an EU plan to better monitor the oceans and seas, combining satellites and digital models, with the aim of better data for the environment and climate, as well as the development of European technology.
On the same day, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will deliver a greeting at a diaspora luncheon co-organized by 28 diaspora organizations -among others, representatives of AHEPA, HALC PSEKA, AHI, HANC, HACC will attend. At the event, prominent members of the diaspora will be honored (Michail Amiridis, Dina Titus, John Koudounis, George Dangas, Athena Krommyda, Patrick Theros).
As part of his participation in the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister will have meetings with leaders, with major international media outlets, as well as with representatives of major American-Jewish organizations (on Wednesday, September 23).
On Friday, September 25 (morning), he will give a live interview on Bloomberg television.
