Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, at the Maximos Mansion.
According to the Maximos Mansion, during the meeting the mutual will to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation was discussed, with emphasis on the sector of investments and on the signing of an investment cooperation memorandum.
There was also an exchange of views on regional developments, as well as on cooperation between Greece and Bahrain at the United Nations, as Greece is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council until the end of the year.
At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister made the following statement:
Your Majesty, it is a real pleasure to welcome you to Greece. Thank you for finding the time to visit us in these extremely turbulent times. There is much to discuss regarding the events unfolding in the region.
I would like to reiterate, once again, our absolute commitment with regard to your security and your territorial integrity, in light of the events of recent months, but also to emphasize the particular importance I attach to strengthening our bilateral relations. We have made progress in recent years, but I believe that we can do much more at the bilateral level, especially with regard to investments in our countries.
Therefore, I look forward with great interest to this discussion. Thank you once again warmly for taking the time to visit Greece.
