The party “Alliance of Greeks” announced that it is supported by Ilias Kasidiaris through a video on YouTube, a few days after his release from prison.
As To Vima notes, the man convicted for directing the criminal organization “Golden Dawn” stated that the party was founded in 2025 and that its statute has already been submitted to the Supreme Court, even claiming that it has an active parliamentary group that prevents its exclusion from the elections.
“The Alliance of Greeks cannot be excluded from the elections”, he said.
As for his own candidacy, he avoided showing his hand, stating that the final decisions on whether he will run independently, on a list, or under another formula will be revealed when the candidacies are submitted to the A1 Department of the Supreme Court.
“Whether I will be a candidate for parliament on a party list or whether I will be an independent candidate in an electoral district or whether I will choose another formula for running in the national elections, you will learn that when the candidacies are submitted to the A1 department of the Supreme Court”, he said characteristically.
As for the MPs who founded the Alliance of Greeks, they, as he said, have a final court ruling from a higher criminal court, on the basis of which “it is impossible for them to be characterized as front men”.
“The standing references by legal circles to controversial decisions of the electoral court are futile, since they concern a different legal entity. After 4 consecutive years of impeccable parliamentary presence, the party’s commitment to democracy cannot be questioned.
In contrast to New Democracy, which keeps in its ranks a provocatively large number of MPs who are under trial and convicted. Therefore, the unwavering participation of the Alliance of Greeks in the upcoming elections is a given”, he added.
