HELLENiQ ENERGY, in the context of the actions it has consistently implemented to support the younger generation, is proceeding with a donation of modern equipment to the New Student Residences of the National Technical University of Athens (NEEMP), to improve the living conditions of the students.
Following the corresponding interventions in the student residences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the new action at NTUA is the third initiative in a row implemented by HELLENiQ ENERGY since the beginning of the year, in the context of its Corporate Responsibility strategy.
The donation to the National Technical University of Athens concerns the configuration, renovation and functional furnishing of common areas in three buildings of the New Student Residences, according to the needs and recommendations of the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM).
The spaces operate as points for study, collaboration and meeting for those residing in the Residences, while they also have a 24-hour security service.
With the completion of the intervention, students – and especially those studying far from their family environment – will have at their disposal a more modern, functional and welcoming environment, which will enhance their daily life and facilitate study and social interaction.
The signing ceremony of the protocol for the delivery of the donation took place on Wednesday, September 9, in the presence of the CEO of HELLENiQ ENERGY, Andreas Siamisiis, the Rector of NTUA, Professor Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou, the President of INEDIVIM, Anna Rokofyllou, as well as the Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs & Student Welfare, Professor Panagiotis Psarrakos. In addition, the Professors Emmanouil Varvarigos, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation & Extroversion of NTUA, and Athanasios Zisis, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, attended the event.
During the event, Mr. Siamisiis was awarded the “Prometheus Pyrphoros,” the emblem of the National Technical University of Athens, as a sign of recognition of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s contribution.
In his statement, the CEO of HELLENiQ ENERGY, Andreas Siamisiis, said:
“With this specific initiative, we continue to stand practically by the side of the academic community and the students. Our goal is to contribute to the creation of a quality living and study environment that will support their daily life and development.
This action also constitutes a small return to the National Technical University of Athens, which for decades has educated qualified scientists and executives, many of whom contribute substantially to the development of the energy sector.
For HELLENiQ ENERGY, supporting the effort of young people to conquer knowledge is a constant strategic choice. We follow this direction both through the initiatives we implement in cooperation with INEDIVIM and through our long-standing scholarship programs and the rewarding of academic excellence”.
The Rector of NTUA, Professor Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou, underlined:
“The Polytechnic is not only its amphitheaters, classrooms and laboratories. It is also the spaces in which its students live, study and socialize. The academic journey is inextricably linked to their well-being and quality of life. That is why shaping an environment that offers safety, comfort and decent living conditions constitutes an essential part of our responsibility toward the student community. We warmly thank HELLENiQ ENERGY for its generous donation for the benefit of our students, as well as INEDIVIM for its continuous actions and initiatives aimed at upgrading the student living environment and, more broadly, student life.”
On her part, the President of the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation, Anna Rokofyllou, emphasized:
“Supporting students and continuously improving their living conditions in student residences is a constant priority for I.NE.DI.VI.M. The generous sponsorship of HELLENiQ ENERGY constitutes a substantial and tangible contribution to this effort, as it significantly enhances the functionality and quality of the common areas of the Polytechnic’s Student Residences. Such initiatives highlight the importance of cooperation and social contribution and prove that, through synergies with a social orientation, we can create better conditions for our students. We warmly thank HELLENiQ ENERGY for this important support.”
It is noted that this specific initiative is part of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s long-term strategy for the support of the younger generation and public education. Over the last decade, it has invested €15 million in related actions, from which more than 300,000 people have benefited, creating added value for the country itself and its future.
