Bank of Cyprus is included among the top banks worldwide, according to Forbes magazine’s first annual ranking “World's Top Performing Banks 2026”, conducted in collaboration with the market research company Statista.
The Bank ranked 19th among 102 medium-sized banks (Tier 4) worldwide and is the only Cypriot bank included in the list.
It is noted that Bank of Cyprus was the only one in the Greek area that participated in the Tier 4 category.
The ranking, which includes 500 banks from 89 countries, was formed based exclusively on objective financial data.
The evaluation was made on the basis of four parameters. Specifically, it took into account profitability (30%), growth and earnings quality (20%), capital and funding resilience (25%), and asset quality and efficiency (25%). The banks were ranked in six categories based on the size of their assets, so that the comparison is made between institutions with similar characteristics.
Bank of Cyprus was included in the Tier 4 category (medium-sized banks, with assets between $20 - $50 billion).
