Optimistic for an even better closing of this year's fiscal year and a stronger picture in 2027 appears REVOIL's CEO, Evangelos Roussos, speaking to Euro2day.gr about the course of the group's three main pillars, namely petroleum products through the parent REVOIL, MALTEZOS and RES through REV Energy.
The picture of the second half, according to him, remains growth-oriented both for the parent REVOIL and for MALTEZOS.
“Regarding the Group's course in the second half of 2026, the parent REVOIL as well as MALTEZOS continue their growth course with increased sales and revenues,” he characteristically states.
The positive picture comes as a continuation of a first half during which the company's core activity moved noticeably better than the market, while MALTEZOS's contribution was also significant.
The boost from MALTEZOS
The newly acquired subsidiary was one of the main factors strengthening the group's results in the first half, contributing approximately 1.03 million euros to profitability.
Its sales were strengthened among other things by the “Change Heating System and Water Heater” program, which increased demand for solar water heaters.
For the second half of the year, the company continues to focus on strengthening sales in the Greek market, developing exports and broadening its product base.
Optimism for RES
In the renewable energy sector, management expects a better picture in the second half, after the pressures caused by production curtailments in the first half of the year.
The operating profitability of the RES sector declined by 60%, or by approximately 335 thousand euros, due to the extensive curtailments linked to the high penetration of RES, the oversupply of power and zero or negative prices in the electricity market.
Mr. Roussos notes that the picture has changed in recent months, stating that “in RES, with the elimination of curtailments during the summer months, we are optimistic for a considerably better year-end closing.”
REV Energy's new projects
Management's optimism is also linked to the new projects maturing in REV Energy's portfolio and expected to strengthen the contribution of the energy segment in the coming years.
In Boeotia, a 6 MW photovoltaic park is moving forward, while a 3 MW wind park has completed the construction stage and is expected to enter trial operation. The group's planning also includes energy storage projects.
As REVOIL's CEO states, management sees “an even better 2027 as the projects run by REV ENERGY mature and will be put into operation, a 6MW photovoltaic park, a 3MW wind park and energy storage.”
Strong first half
The estimates for the rest of the year come after a significant improvement in financial figures in the first half.
The group's turnover amounted to 500.39 million euros, increased by 21.47% from 411.94 million euros, while EBITDA strengthened by 31.37% to 8.90 million euros from 6.77 million euros. Profit before tax increased by 167% to 3.23 million euros, compared with 1.21 million euros, while net profits reached 1.95 million euros from 0.77 million euros.
Of particular importance is also the picture of the core activity. The parent company's fuel sales volumes increased by 8.76%, to 412.62 million liters, despite the fact that the overall Greek petroleum products market declined in the same period by 3.97%.
The increase came mainly from motor fuels, where volumes strengthened by 10.15%, and marine, which recorded a rise of 36.92%, while heating oil sales moved lower due to higher temperatures.
