By decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis, Phase B of the construction of flood protection works for a section of the Xereas Stream of the Municipality of Kropia, Attica, with a total public expenditure of 5.5 million euros, is included in the ESPA Programme “Environment and Climate Change 2021-2027”.
Specifically, among other things, the construction of the following is envisaged:
- an outfall project into the sea with the placement of boulders,
- a new bridge and crossing on Souniou Avenue, at the intersection with the Xereas stream, in the Agia Marina area of Koropi
- other technical regulation, connection, and retaining works.
The works will be carried out over a length of 1.54 km.
The beneficiary of the operation is the Region of Attica and the co-financing is from the Cohesion Fund.
The total public expenditure of Phase A and Phase B amounts to 8.9 million euros.
