The National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A.), through K.E.DI.VI.M., in collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Photovoltaic Companies (SEF), launches a new, certified training program titled: “DESIGN, INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS”. It is addressed to installation technicians, consulting engineers, and executives in the energy sector.
The following are 10 key points of the program:
- Comprehensive Knowledge and Practical Application: The program offers 40 hours of training (35 hours of theory and remote exercises, 5 hours of practical field training).
- What you will learn: Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of:
- Solar radiation, the photovoltaic effect, as well as I-V and P-V curves.
- The sizing of photovoltaic systems, taking into account shading, temperature, and losses.
- The design of grounding and lightning protection systems.
- The institutional framework, licensing, and techno-economic evaluation of projects.
- Specialization in Batteries and Storage: The program places particular emphasis on Energy Storage Systems and their relationship with photovoltaic systems. The program covers the sizing of storage means for hybrid systems, their integration into the grid, and their optimal operation.
- Learn from the experts: The training is provided by people who know photovoltaics and batteries in practice. The program staff have experience in the field, with a deep understanding of the technical challenges and the solutions required in the market.
- Modern Maintenance and Diagnostic Techniques: The program covers advanced methods, such as thermography, electroluminescence, and characteristic curve measurement, equipping technicians with the tools for immediate fault diagnosis.
- Internationally Recognized Certification: Upon successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance from N.T.U.A. and SEF. At the same time, N.T.U.A. is immediately initiating the certification process by ESYD, in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17024 standard, granting international recognition, which makes the program unique in Greece.
- Flexible Structure and Duration: The program has a total duration of 8 weeks (one lecture per week). Attendance takes place mainly remotely, with one 5-hour in-person meeting for practical field training.
- Cost and Discounts: The participation cost amounts to €650 (0% VAT). Discounts of 15% are provided for unemployed persons (with a valid unemployment card) and 10% for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) above 50%.
- Program Start: The first cycle of classes is expected to begin in the period 9/11/2026 – 8/1/2027.
- Registrations and Information: Interested parties may contact for participation declarations and information at the emails: [email protected] and [email protected], or by phone at 210-7723539. The Scientific Director of the program is Associate Professor of N.T.U.A., Mr. Christos Christodoulou.
