A new generation of 35 students began the 2nd cycle of the Professional Postgraduate Studies Program "Enterprise Software Systems Development" (MSc in Enterprise Software Systems Development) of the University of Macedonia, in collaboration with and funded by Deloitte.
According to the relevant announcement, the launch of the new cycle took place at Deloitte's new offices at the port of Thessaloniki, where the welcome event for the new students was held.
The event was introduced by Vasilis Kafatos, Deloitte Partner, Growth Leader and Chairman of the Deloitte Competence Center, referring to the aim of the postgraduate program to bridge academic education with the needs of the international labor market.
At the same time, the program aims to cover the shortage of specialized IT professionals, as well as the reskilling and immediate professional placement of unemployed people.
Connecting studies and the labor market
Greetings were delivered by Christos Georgiadis, Dean of the School of Information Sciences, and Efthymios Tambouris, Director of the Postgraduate Program.
Graduates of the 1st cycle also participated in the event, sharing their experience and the skills they acquired, symbolically passing the baton to the new participants.
The program combines the academic expertise of the University of Macedonia with the specialization and experience of the Deloitte Competence Center, giving participants the opportunity to make a professional shift toward the IT sector.
The education focuses on modern technologies and on developing knowledge for the design and development of enterprise software, with particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence.
Alongside technical knowledge, students attend lectures on soft skills by Deloitte executives. The program is completed with the capstone project, through which participants are called upon to use their knowledge and skills to address real business challenges.
Absorption by Deloitte
Of particular importance is the progress of the students of the 1st cycle, as 2/3 of the active students have already joined Deloitte's workforce.
This fact, according to the company, highlights the connection of the postgraduate program with the labor market and the immediate professional utilization of the skills acquired by the participants.
