“We are called upon to confirm in practice that defending the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the members of the European family and the Atlantic Alliance, especially those on the front line such as Lithuania and Greece, is a common cause,” stressed Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the context of the statements that followed the meeting he had with the president of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, at the Maximos Mansion, on Monday (05/10).
“Lithuania knows that freedom is never a given, which is why it chose the path of Europe” added K. Mitsotakis.
Also, the prime minister expressed “Greece’s absolute solidarity with Lithuania, which has been subjected to successive hybrid attacks,” adding that “we fully understand the fears regarding the Russian threat. Unauthorized crossings, cyberattacks, acts of sabotage from wherever they may originate, now concern the whole of Europe and require a coordinated response.”
Continuing, K. Mitsotakis stated that “our mission is to safeguard this Union of prosperity and freedom, while at the same time strengthening its defense as well as its resilience.”
