MP Evangelos Apostolakis met on Monday morning with the President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, announcing his inclusion in the Movement’s Parliamentary Group.
“I welcome MP Evangelos Apostolakis to the PASOK Parliamentary Group. The retired admiral who, throughout his long career in the Armed Forces, distinguished himself by his integrity, composure and determination.
He has served as Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff and Minister of National Defence and enjoys cross-party respect. I am sure that with his knowledge he will contribute to PASOK’s program for a modern national defense policy, but also to our struggle for the political change that the country needs in the upcoming national elections. Admiral, welcome,” noted Mr. Androulakis.
For his part, Mr. Apostolakis pointed out:
“I am responding to the invitation of the leader of the official opposition, Nikos Androulakis, for cooperation and joining forces for the good of the country, so that it may gain prospects.
It was not an easy decision for me. However, I go against the tide, I am not afraid of the tide. I refuse retirements, personal solutions and imperative calls, which I do not accept. I will give all my strength so that together we may build a modern, strong and proud Greece.
Mr. President, your invitation is a challenge for cooperation and struggle”.
