Private providers maintained a strong presence in the retail electricity market in September, increasing their total share to 46.69%, according to data from the Hellenic Energy Exchange (EnEx) cited by Optima in its morning report.
The average monthly clearing price stood at 156.31 euros/MWh, up by 22.91 euros/MWh compared to August and by 63.54 euros/MWh on an annual basis. At the same time, the total energy traded in the day-ahead market amounted to 5,463 GWh, recording an increase of 7.6% compared to September 2025.
Among private providers, Metlen's Protergia retained first place with a share of 21.50%, followed by GEK TERNA's Heron with 10.24%, HELLENiQ ENERGY's Enerwave with 6.82% and Motor Oil's NRG with 4.24%.
On the other hand, the share of PPC fell in September to 51.50%, down by 1.80 percentage points on a monthly basis.
