AEGEAN continues to invest strategically in the development of its network, further strengthening both the country's connectivity and the role of Athens as an aviation hub.
In this context, AEGEAN is launching a new route that directly connects Athens with Damascus, the capital of Syria, adding yet another Middle Eastern country to its international network.
Flights to Damascus International Airport begin on December 2, 2026 and will operate, during the winter schedule, up to four times per week, on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
At the same time, the company is exploring the further expansion of its network in North Africa. The inclusion of Libya in its network, with direct connections to Tripoli and Benghazi, is scheduled to begin in May 2027, provided that the required assessments and procedures are completed.
Finally, it is noted that, from October 23, 2026, AEGEAN will resume direct flights from Athens to Dubai.
