The president of PASOK Nikos Androulakis visited Kastellorizo today, sending a message for the defense of the country's national sovereignty and sovereign rights in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.
The first stop of his tour was the island's school, where he spoke with teachers and students, and played basketball with the children. He then visited the "Sergeant of Infantry Nikolaos Savvas" military camp and the regional multipurpose clinic.
In his statements from the border island, Mr. Androulakis emphasized that Greece's national sovereignty and sovereign rights are "strong and non-negotiable", as they are based on the International Law of the Sea and on rules that apply without exceptions.
"We stand at the easternmost edge of the country. From here, where our homeland begins, we send a clear message: Our national sovereignty and our sovereign rights in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean are strong and non-negotiable," he stated characteristically.
At the same time, he criticized revisionist approaches that, as he said, question the country's rights to protect its seas and critical energy infrastructure, stressing that "no so-called 'sensitive issue' of a third country can justify illegal and provocative actions".
The president of PASOK reiterated that Greece seeks good neighborly relations with Turkey, noting, however, that these can only be built on respect for international law.
Nikos Androulakis was accompanied by the mayor of Megisti Nikos Asvestis, the Dodecanese MP Giorgos Nikitiadis, and local party officials.
