China’s Tsinghua University, ranked 11th in the world in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings, held a four-day international gathering in Athens for its School of Finance’s Belt and Road Initiative Executive MBA programme, at the facilities of Keele Greece University on Hippokratous Street.
During the visit, the School’s Dean, Jiao Jie, presented Nikos Stathopoulos, head of BC Partners and the education group Alphabet Education, with an honorary plaque bearing the distinction “Globally Honored by the Belt and Road Initiative EMBA Program”.
“Today, another bridge is being built between Tsinghua and Athens, between East and West. Today, together with this renowned university, we are beginning to explore fruitful areas for cooperation, creating synergies that will strengthen the internationalisation of higher education in Greece,” Mr Stathopoulos said.
The delegation comprises about 75 participants, including senior executives, founders, chairmen and chief executives of leading companies from China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia and other markets, who are enrolled in Tsinghua’s Executive MBA programme.
Tsinghua’s Executive MBA programme is considered one of the world’s leading programmes. It attracts senior executives and high-calibre entrepreneurs and serves as a bridge between government bodies, academia and the business community in China.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr Stathopoulos added: “It is a great pleasure and honour for Alphabet Education, whose institutions in Greece have 29,000 students, to welcome one of the world’s leading universities. Education has always been the most valuable long-term investment a society can make, and its importance is growing as technology and artificial intelligence transform every sector. Today, financial education is meaningful when it brings leaders together and stays connected to the real economy, where knowledge meets practice and ideas become decisions.”
