Behind the overall increase, however, trends varied across market segments: online gaming continued to gain momentum, casinos reported higher gross revenue despite lower stakes, and lotteries followed a downward trend.
Total gross gaming revenue (GGR) in the Greek gambling market came to €1.56bn in the first half of 2026, compared with €1.44bn in the same period in 2025, an increase of 8%.
How stakes are distributed

In particular, stakes at online companies came to €4.18bn, compared with €3.61bn in the same half of 2025, an increase of 15.8%.
Meanwhile, stakes in Allwyn’s land-based operations, which include betting shops and VLTs, amounted to €3.75bn, up from €3.51bn in the first half of 2025, an increase of 6.7%.
Casinos and lotteries
Casinos presented a different picture, with stakes at €611.1m, compared with €618.9m in the same half of 2025, a decline of 1.3%.
Despite the fall in stakes, however, casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) rose, reaching €132.1m, up from €128.1m in the first half of 2025, an increase of 3.1%.
By contrast, lotteries recorded declines in both measures. Stakes fell to €142.1m, from €152.3m in the same period in 2025, a drop of 6.7%. Gross revenue fell more sharply, to €44m from €52.6m, a decline of 16.4%.
