The conference provided an important platform for dialogue and the exchange of views on the current challenges and prospects facing ferry services and ports. With the theme “Ferries and Ports – Connecting People and Business”, it highlighted their decisive role in connectivity, tourism, trade and the development of local communities.
The discussions focused on the digitalisation of port operations, the energy transition, improving operational efficiency, and the development of modern, sustainable port infrastructure and services.
Particular emphasis was placed on the need for closer cooperation between ports and ferry companies, as developments in the sector make joint planning and the exchange of expertise increasingly important.
As part of the conference, delegates toured the port of Piraeus, giving participants the opportunity to see first-hand the infrastructure and operations of one of Europe’s most important hubs for passenger shipping.
The participation of PPA as lead sponsor reaffirms the organisation’s steadfast commitment to fostering cooperation across the maritime community and sharing best practices.
