To mark October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HYGEIA is launching the “Pink Reminder – Prevention starts with a decision” campaign, an initiative reminding women of the importance of regular screening.
According to the relevant press release, in the fast pace of everyday life, looking after our health often takes second place. An appointment is postponed; a screening check is put off until later. Pink Reminder is here to remind women that prevention need not wait.
As part of the campaign, HYGEIA is joining forces with Panathinaikos AKTOR BC, with the participation of White Veil, to bring the prevention message to Telekom Center Athens through a series of activities at the team’s home EuroLeague games throughout October.
Pink Reminder activities at the arena
The Pink Reminder campaign will be shown on the arena’s LED screens, while players and members of the Panathinaikos AKTOR BC staff will take part in the initiative by wearing specially designed Pink Reminder stickers as they enter the court.
Pink Reminder T-shirts will also be distributed to fans during breaks, while announcements by the arena’s public-address announcer will carry the campaign’s message and highlight the importance of prevention.
A key part of the initiative is the Pink Reminder Cam, through which HYGEIA will offer free check-ups to women who take part in the activity during the team’s home EuroLeague games.
White Veil is also taking part in the campaign, helping spread the prevention message through its display on the external screens of Telekom Center Athens and the production of audiovisual material highlighting the initiative’s activities.
Preferential rates for screening tests
HYGEIA is also offering special preferential rates on tests for the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer, giving women the opportunity to book their screening by 31 October, with the tests available to be carried out by the end of the year.
