Lidl Greece emerged as the standout winner at the Bakery & Pastry Awards 2026, taking the event’s top honour, the “Bakery Company of the Year” title, as well as nine gold and silver awards for its bakery and pastry ranges.
The annual awards ceremony was organised by BOUSSIAS Events on Thursday, 8 October at Anais Club. The company was recognised for the quality, variety and innovation of its products, as well as the concept and facilities of its bakery, according to the relevant announcement.
The entries were assessed by an independent judging panel comprising distinguished academics, representatives of institutional bodies and experts in the bakery and pastry sectors. The panel was chaired by Ioannis Smarnakis, president of the Panhellenic Association of Food Science and Technology Scientists (P.E.T.E.T.).
Six awards in the Bakery category
In the Bakery category, Lidl Greece won six awards, recognising its performance both in its bakery facilities and across its bakery product ranges.
The awards were as follows:
Gold award in the “Bakery in a Supermarket / Department Store” category for the concept and facilities of Lidl Greece’s bakery.
Gold award in the “Bakery Products – White Bread” category for its range of white breads.
Gold award in the “Bakery Products – Brown Bread” category for its range of brown breads.
Gold award in the “Bakery Products – Croissants” category for its croissant range.
Gold award in the “Bakery Products – Puff Pastry” category for its range of puff pastry products.
Silver award in the “Bakery Products – Snacks” category for its snack range.
Three gold awards in the Pastry category
In the Pastry category, the company won three gold awards for its pastry product ranges. Specifically, it was recognised in the following categories:
Gold award in the “Pastry Products – Syrup-soaked Pastries” category for its range of syrup-soaked pastries.
Gold award in the “Pastry Products – Individual Cakes” category for its range of individual cakes.
Gold award in the “Pastry Products – Confectionery Range” category for its Speculoos range.
