“In recent days, we have seen the scandal over Ms Guilfoyle’s removal, a case that has clearly embarrassed the government. On this issue, ultimately, the Americans send each country the ambassador it deserves.”
Alexis Tsipras made the remarks in his address to today’s meeting of the Political Committee of ELAS.
Recalling that during his premiership the US had sent Ukraine’s ambassador to Athens, he called on the government to seek an explanation for the downgrade signalled by Guilfoyle’s posting and for her removal.
He also made a barbed comment about the lifestyle behaviour of government figures alongside Ms Guilfoyle.
