Producers will be able to submit their IACS declarations for 2026 without first having to register with the Register of Farmers and Agricultural Holdings (MAAE), under a legislative provision being pursued by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food in co-operation with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, the provision would defer until 2027 the requirement to register with MAAE in advance as a condition for submitting the Single Aid Application (SAA), so that producers are not burdened with additional procedures during this year’s application period.
Under the proposed provision, the existing submission process for declarations will remain in place in 2026, allowing applicants to complete their applications without having to register with MAAE again specifically for this purpose.
The requirement to register with the Register as a condition for submitting the SAA is proposed to take effect from 2027, giving producers and the competent authorities more time to adapt to the new procedures.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Rural Development and Food is continuing its co-operation with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to complete the digital connection between their information systems.
The same announcement said the aim is for the new procedures to be accompanied by the automatic exchange of data between the competent authorities, reducing the need for producers to resubmit information.
It also stressed that the legislative initiative is still being taken forward and that the deferral of the requirement will be finalised when the relevant provision is enacted.
