The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) has released provisional monthly data on activity at hotel-type accommodation, campsites and collective short-stay accommodation (rented rooms) for the reference month of August 2026.
According to the survey data, there were 7,429,931 arrivals and 34,685,695 overnight stays at tourist accommodation in August 2026, up 2.6% and 2.1%, respectively, compared with the same month in 2025.
More specifically, in August 2026 compared with the same month in 2025, arrivals by foreign visitors rose 2.9% and overnight stays increased 2.3%. Among domestic visitors, arrivals rose 1.7% and overnight stays increased 1.2%.
Foreign visitors accounted for the largest share of arrivals and overnight stays across all accommodation establishments, at 76.7% and 84.0%, respectively.
The average length of stay in August 2026 was 4.7 days.
