Those required to file their annual 2026 asset declarations must do so online by Tuesday 3 November, as the deadline approaches.
According to the official platform, filing opened on 3 August 2026 and will close on 3 November.
The process is completed online using personal Taxisnet credentials.
Before submitting a declaration, filers should carefully check the information filled in automatically and add any details that have not been retrieved from the available electronic systems.
Who is required to file an asset declaration
The filing requirement applies to specific categories of people who hold positions or perform roles in the public, political, judicial and private sectors, under current legislation.
Those required to file include politicians, elected representatives, certain categories of public officials and executives, as well as professionals covered by the relevant legislative provisions.
The categories of people required to file a declaration are determined by the position they hold and the provisions of Law 5026/2023.
The process includes a Declaration of Assets (DPA) and, where required, a Declaration of Financial Interests (DFI).
The declaration records assets held during the previous year. Spouses or civil partners, as well as minor children, are subject to corresponding obligations, as provided by law.
How to file a declaration on the pothen.gr platform
Filers can access the online application through the website using their personal Taxisnet credentials.
After logging in, they must review the information displayed on the platform and enter any required details to ensure the declaration accurately reflects their financial position.
Particular care should be taken to check data transferred automatically by banks and other relevant bodies.
The automatic completion of information does not absolve filers of their responsibility to ensure that the declaration is complete and accurate.
If certain information has not been entered automatically, filers should provide it themselves where this is required.
What to check before submitting a declaration
Before completing the process, filers should carefully check information relating to:
Bank accounts and deposits, including accounts they hold as joint account holders.
Investment products, such as shares, bonds and mutual funds.
Property, vehicles and company holdings, which must be recorded in line with current requirements.
Safe-deposit boxes and other assets that must be declared.
If errors, omissions or inaccuracies are found, the necessary corrections must be made before final submission.
Filers remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information declared, even when some of it has been filled in automatically.
What the rules say about corrections after filing
The current framework allows information to be corrected after filing, subject to specific conditions and within the prescribed time limits.
However, the option to amend a declaration does not extend the original deadline.
Filers should therefore ensure they complete the process on time and confirm that their declaration has been submitted and finalised successfully.
