The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, is visiting the United States today, Wednesday, and tomorrow, Thursday, travelling to Boston.
According to a press release, Mr Dendias will attend the signing ceremony this afternoon, local time, of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sea Grant Program (MITSG) and the Hellenic Centre for Defence Innovation (ΕΛΚΑΚ). The ceremony will take place at the Consulate General of Greece in Boston.
During his visit to Boston, the Minister of National Defence will meet Professor George Velmahos, Professor of Surgery at Harvard University.
The talks will focus on the creation of a model Trauma Centre at the 401 Athens General Military Hospital (401 G.S.N.A.).
The minister will also meet academic representatives from US universities and research institutions, as well as executives from US companies specialising in robotics, innovation, artificial intelligence, cyber defence and cybersecurity, as well as space telecommunications.
