Chalkiadakis S.A., Crete’s leading supermarket chain, is once again rewarding its employees in a tangible way this year, granting an additional one-off payment of €300 to each of its 2,080 employees.
The benefit, worth more than €600,000 in total, has already been credited to employees’ personal shopping cards in recognition of their daily efforts, reliability and professionalism in serving the company’s customers.
The initiative comes in a year of significant growth for Chalkiadakis S.A. The company has expanded its network with a new large store in Chania, carried out renovations, extensions and upgrades at stores in Neapoli, Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos, and continued to grow its workforce, which now numbers 2,080 employees.
The company also places particular emphasis on its employees’ training and career development. Through the Chalkiadakis Academy and its individual schools, it runs training programmes to enhance employees’ knowledge, skills and career prospects.
So far in 2026 alone, the Academy has held 34 seminars, providing 7,076 hours of training and involving 1,580 employees, underscoring the company’s sustained investment in its people’s ongoing training.
With people at its heart, Chalkiadakis S.A. combines strong business growth with meaningful initiatives to reward, train and support its employees, recognising that they are the most important force behind its success, the company said in its announcement.
