The e-EFKA administration informs insured members of the former public sector that, from November 2026, pension applications for old-age and survivors’ pensions will be submitted exclusively online, replacing the handwritten process used to date. The new digital service, being developed as part of the New Integrated Information System (OPS), aims to simplify administrative procedures, reduce bureaucracy and process pension applications more quickly.
Implementation timetable
The online platform will be activated in stages as follows:
→ From Monday, 2 November 2026: Online submission of old-age pension applications (for the main pension, supplementary pension, lump-sum benefit and the Civil Servants’ Share Fund – M.T.P.Y.).
→ From Monday, 9 November 2026: Online submission of survivors’ pension applications for insured members (for the main pension, supplementary pension, lump-sum benefit and the Civil Servants’ Share Fund – M.T.P.Y.).
How to submit an application
Submission requirement: Before an online application can be submitted, the applicant’s civil-service employment must have ended (due to resignation, reaching the age limit, physical incapacity, retirement from the armed forces, etc.).
Applicants can submit their application by following these steps:
- Visit the official e-EFKA website: www.e-efka.gov.gr.
- Log in using personal TAXISnet credentials.
- Select: ONLINE SERVICES ➔ Public-Sector Employees & Public-Law Legal Entities ➔ Online Service (Public Sector) for Submitting a Pension and Lump-Sum Benefit Application ➔ Log in to the service.
- Select the appropriate application type (e.g. “Application for an Old-Age Main Pension”).
Verification and updating of details
If personal details cannot be verified during the application process, insured members must update them:
- Online, in the AMKA-EMAES Registry (Social Security Registration Number – National Register of Insured Employees and Pensioners) and the National Communications Registry (EMEp).
- Alternatively, within a 15-day deadline, at the Registry Department of their local e-EFKA Directorate, bringing a printed copy of the application preview.
Next steps in the process
After the online application has been submitted:
- The applicant prints the submission receipt and submits it to the Personnel/Administrative Directorate of the organisation they are leaving.
- The relevant department completes the e-Δ.Α.Υ.Κ/ Δ.Α.Υ.Κ. (Individual and Service Status Record) or the Certificate of Service Changes.
- The relevant department then forwards the pension application, together with the required supporting documents and relevant service records, to the competent authority, namely:
- e-EFKA, for services under the General Directorate of Public Sector Pensions (13-15 Filellinon Street, postal code 10557, Athens).
- the Civil Servants’ Share Fund (M.T.P.Y.) (12 Lykourgou Street, postal code 10551, Athens), as applicable.
For each application, the corresponding copy of the DAΥK or the prescribed service document is sent in accordance with the current procedure, so that the application can be reviewed and the relevant pension decision or other prescribed act issued by the competent authority.
