Serious felony charges are among those brought by the prosecutor against the people arrested in a case involving large-scale tax evasion at the Pizza Fan chain’s network of outlets.
The charges brought against the 23 people arrested, including the company’s founder, vary by individual and include:
- Forming, joining and directing a criminal organisation.
- Tax evasion of more than €150,000 through failure to remit VAT and the filing of inaccurate income tax returns.
- Direct complicity in these offences.
- Particularly aggravated money laundering.
The company is alleged to have failed to pay the state at least €25 million in VAT since 2022.
Based on the findings of the investigation, the Organised Crime Division mounted a large-scale operation and arrested 23 people, including the company’s founder and owner, executives, accountants and programmers.
The case will be assigned to an investigating magistrate, before whom the accused will give their statements.
