PASOK–Movement for Change President Nikos Androulakis attended the festive Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Demetrius in Thessaloniki on Monday morning.
Mr Androulakis said:
«Happy name day to everyone celebrating.
Happy feast day to our Thessaloniki.
On every anniversary, we must envisage our country’s path in the modern geopolitical environment.
By strengthening the sources of our national power: demographics, regional development, our deterrent capability and the quality of our democracy.
We have a duty to protect our national sovereignty and sovereign rights.
In light of the latest developments, this means completing the Cyprus-Greece electricity interconnection project solely in accordance with the rules of international law.
No recognition of rights for Turkey will be tolerated, not even indirect recognition, of rights that it does not have in any case.
The illegal Turkish-Libyan memorandum has no legal validity.
