The General Directorate of the General Chemical State Laboratory of AADE (GDGCHL) is recalling a batch of an alcoholic drink in the “strawberry distillate” category after a sample was deemed unsafe.
During scheduled inspections, the Chemical Service of Central Macedonia conducted laboratory tests on a sample of an alcoholic drink in the “strawberry distillate” category, following sampling by the Macedonia MEOEL unit of AADE’s General Directorate of Financial Transactions Control Forces (GDDEOS).
The sample was deemed non-compliant and unsafe because its methanol concentration exceeds the relevant maximum limit for strawberry distillate.
The product in question is:
- Trade name: “STRAWBAR ORIGIN”
- Alcohol content: 40% vol.
- Packaging: 50 cl bottles
- Batch number: 003
- Manufacturer: “ENTEKA” Distillery and Spirits Producer (N. Ioannis Kokkaliaris, Nea Nikopoli, Kozani)
- Distributor: “Life Science Lab College Single-Member S.A.”
The distributor, in cooperation with the services of AADE’s GDGCHL, is already carrying out the immediate withdrawal of all quantities of the batch from the domestic market. Checks are under way.
Consumers who have already purchased the product are advised not to consume it.
