Y/KNOT Invest expects its inclusion in the General Index of the Athens Exchange, effective today, Tuesday 27 October, to broaden investor interest, boost trading and attract new investors.
Speaking to Euro2day, the shipping company’s CEO, George Koutsos, described the development as another important milestone for the company, which in roughly 15 months has raised capital, expanded its fleet and moved from dry-bulk shipping into the tanker market.
For management, inclusion in the benchmark index is not just another milestone but also an opportunity to raise the share’s profile among investors, with the aim of increasing trading activity.
“Another important milestone”
“Our inclusion in the General Index is a source of great satisfaction. It is another important milestone in a journey that is progressing rapidly. In July 2025, we paved the way for ocean-going shipping in the Greek capital market as the first Greek company in the sector to be listed on Euronext Athens. This was followed by a successful capital increase and investments that expanded our operations from dry-bulk vessels into tankers.
Inclusion in the General Index adds to this momentum. We believe it will broaden investor interest and create the conditions for more trading and new investors.
We aim to sustain the company’s growth and profitability, creating long-term value for our shareholders,” Y/KNOT Invest CEO George Koutsos said.
A change of constituents in the General Index
Y/KNOT Invest’s inclusion in the General Index follows a rebalancing triggered by the merger of Europa Holdings and CrediaBank.
According to an announcement by Euronext Athens, Europa Holdings will be removed from the General Price Index and the ATHEX General Index Total Return Index, with Y/KNOT Invest taking its place at a free-float factor of 71% and a weighting factor of 1.0.
At the same time, the shipping company will leave the Small-Cap Price Index, where it will be replaced by Space Hellas.
The change is particularly significant for Y/KNOT, as inclusion in the General Index raises the share’s visibility and brings it onto the radar of more investment portfolios.
Inclusion in the General Index comes during a period of strong growth for Y/KNOT Invest, which has expanded its operations into tankers. The company’s increased profile on the stock market now creates new prospects for broadening its investor base and boosting trading activity, giving its presence in the Greek capital market an additional lift.
