Online applications for funding open today, Thursday 29 October 2026, initially for vacant homes, under the “Home Renovation” scheme of the ESPA 2021–2027 programme, which has a total budget of €500 million.
Applications for funding must be submitted through a dedicated platform by 11 January 2027 at the following scheme website:
https://anakainisi.tee.gov.gr/The scheme aims to renovate properties and make modest energy-efficiency improvements by providing grants to low- and middle-income households, so the homes can be brought back into use as primary residences, either by their owners or through rental. Applications for funding for occupied homes will open in a later phase.
The grant covers 70% to 95% of eligible costs, up to €36,000 for renovation and energy-efficiency works. Additional funding of up to €2,500 is available for support services, in line with the terms of the scheme’s Implementation Guide, which has already been published.
Applicants must hold an Eligibility Certificate for the property covered by their funding application. Applications must be submitted online and include an Intervention Plan setting out the proposed works and their cost, as well as the required declarations and supporting documents.
Applicants are not required to use a technical consultant to submit their funding application, but doing so is recommended to ensure the Intervention Plan is properly prepared.
