Wealthyhood has announced a strategic partnership with National Bank of Greece, under which Wealthyhood Europe AEPEY provides the investment services for the new “Investments” section of Next by NBG, the bank’s app.
Next users can now invest in international shares and ETFs from as little as €1, without leaving the Next by NBG app.
Investing without barriers, from just €1
For many young people, investing has until now seemed like an inaccessible world: high minimum amounts, complicated processes and daunting terminology. The new “Investments” section removes these barriers for Next users, giving them access to international markets in a simple, straightforward way.
With “Investments”, Next users can:
- Invest from just €1: With fractional shares, users do not need to buy a whole share: they can invest as much as they want and acquire the corresponding fraction.
- Access international markets: More than 2,400 shares from the US, Europe and the UK, and more than 940 ETFs, with search tools, thematic categories and market data.
- Get started with money market funds: For those seeking a better return on their money, money market funds have no lock-in period or fees for buying or selling, while their returns track market interest rates.
- Invest automatically every month: They can set up a monthly investment to invest an amount of their choice each month, building a consistent investing habit.
- Keep everything in one place: They can track the performance of their investments, transfer money to and from their Next account, trade at a competitive fee with no subscription or custody fee, and learn the basics through beginner’s guides, a glossary of terms and market updates.
Alexandros Christodoulakis, Co-Founder & CEO of Wealthyhood, said:
“Young people in Greece have never lacked the willingness to invest; they have lacked access. The system expected them to go elsewhere, open something new and start with amounts they didn’t have, through time-consuming and difficult processes. With Next by NBG, investing is available where they already are: in the app they open every day to pay, save and manage their finances, starting from just €1. Today, the country’s largest bank trusts Wealthyhood’s technology, product and licensed infrastructure to bring international markets to its users. For us, this is the future of investing in Europe: banks and fintechs joining forces.”
Christina Theofylidi, General Manager of Retail Banking at National Bank of Greece, said:
“With the new “Investments” section we are adding to National Bank of Greece’s Next app, we are making investing possible in a modern and reliable way. With “Investments”, international markets are now part of the same environment Next users already use to pay, save and manage their finances. This makes access to the investment ecosystem, which can sometimes be complex, simpler and easier.”
