Euronext, the operator of Europe’s stock exchanges, is preparing for a change in leadership, with CEO Stéphane Boujnah to be replaced by David Knibbe, who joins from Dutch insurer NN Group.
Euronext announced on Monday that the change follows Boujnah’s decision to leave his post in May 2027. The company said an extensive and thorough selection process had been conducted to find his successor.
Knibbe’s formal nomination for the CEO post is expected to be submitted for approval at Euronext’s annual general meeting on 20 May 2027.
Knibbe will leave his post at NN Group on 1 March 2027. In a separate announcement, the insurer said it intends to appoint Jeroen Bosklopper as its new CEO.
The move marks the start of preparations for a new era of leadership at Euronext, the group that operates stock markets in several European countries, including Athens.
