Y/KNOT Invest is looking to generate at least $14 million in additional revenue by the end of 2026, based on charter agreements already secured. Management believes the figure could rise further, depending on how long the tanker AMETHYST is ultimately employed.
The development reflects progress in the listed company’s strategic transformation. A little over a year after the new management team took office, the company is expanding its shipping operations, capitalising on conditions in the international freight market.
AMETHYST’s daily rate nearly quadruples
The latest sign of the company’s commercial momentum is a second charter agreement for the tanker AMETHYST with one of the world’s leading oil and petroleum products trading groups.
The new agreement provides for daily revenue of $175,000, compared with $45,000 under the first charter, an increase of almost 289%. The charter is expected to last between 1.5 and 2.5 months, generating revenue of between $7.7 million and $13.3 million.
The second charter begins in the first few days of November, immediately after the previous one ended on 29 October, following 96 days on hire and generating total revenue of $4.32 million.
As a result, AMETHYST, which joined the company’s fleet in late June, is assured of continuous commercial employment, while the significant increase in its daily rate strengthens expectations for the listed company’s financial performance.
G. Koutsos: At least $14 million in additional revenue
Y/KNOT Invest CEO Georgios Koutsos spoke about the opportunities created by the new agreements and the market outlook, saying:
“The new rate for AMETHYST highlights the earnings potential we are building in the tanker sector. Based on the charter agreements already secured, we expect at least $14 million in additional revenue by year-end, with scope for further growth depending on the charter’s final duration. These agreements make our revenues more predictable, while market conditions point to favourable prospects for 2027.”
Beyond AMETHYST, the company is also delivering positive results in dry cargo shipping, with FEDERICA having completed a series of profitable charters. This activity complements its presence in the tanker sector, with shipping now the group’s main growth driver.
R. Tzortzis: The agreements validate our strategy
Chairman Rigas Tzortzis focused on the results of the company’s transformation and the importance of management’s decisions.
“A little over a year ago, we set out to turn Y/KNOT Invest into a dynamic shipping company. Today, our financial performance, growth and the commercial deployment of our fleet, as well as investor confidence, validate the effectiveness of our strategy.
Our early move into shipping sectors with strong prospects, coupled with our market knowledge, enabled us to capitalise on favourable conditions in the freight market and secure agreements that boost our revenue and lay the foundations for the next phase of growth. We remain focused on operational discipline and on creating value for our shareholders.”
Strong investor interest at the Euronext Small Cap Conference
These developments formed part of the picture presented by Y/KNOT Invest at the Euronext Small Cap Conference 2026, held in Athens, where chairman Rigas Tzortzis and CEO Georgios Koutsos held a series of one-to-one meetings with members of the investment community.
According to the company, interest in its presentation was particularly strong, with all available meeting slots filled.
The focus was on the progress of the shipping strategy, the vessels’ commercial performance and the prospects for further growth. Management also outlined key milestones from the recent period, including a €22.8 million share capital increase that was 1.5 times oversubscribed and a return to profitability in the first half of 2026.
The listed company’s participation in the investor event coincided with the recent inclusion of its shares in the Athens Stock Exchange General Index on 27 October, a development that raises its profile in the market at a time of significant changes to its business.
