The JUMBO Group chose to absorb the additional energy and transport costs caused by the Middle East crisis, the increase in VAT and the depreciation of the RON in Romania, rather than pass them on to product prices. Consumers recognised this, rewarding the company’s strategy, the listed company said in a statement.
In October 2026, Group sales rose +13% year on year, delivering the strongest monthly performance of the year. Overall, sales in the January–October 2026 period increased by 6.7% compared with the same period last year.
At a time when household budgets remain under pressure, keeping prices stable and competitive has proved not only a business principle but also the Group’s most effective investment. The customer should always be the one to benefit from any transition period.
Investment and store network
Meanwhile, the JUMBO Group is continuing its investment programme. The new superstore in Baia Mare, the Group’s 21st store in Romania, opened towards the end of October.
The JUMBO Group now has 90 stores: 53 in Greece, 6 in Cyprus, 10 in Bulgaria and 21 in Romania. It also operates online shops in Greece, Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria, and, since early November, in Hungary.
In October, the ninth JUMBO store in Israel opened, operated by the local franchise partner, further expanding the brand’s presence in the Israeli market. Through partnerships, the Group now has a presence with 49 stores in 7 countries (Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Israel).
By the end of the year, the first store in Moldova and the first store in Canada are expected to open under the JUMBO brand.
Dividends and outlook
It is recalled that payment of the extraordinary cash distribution of €1.00 per share (gross) will begin on Friday, 20 November 2026, with an ex-dividend date of 16 November. With this distribution, total cash distributions to shareholders in 2026 will amount to €2.20 per share, or approximately €295.6 million.
With attention now turning to the key Christmas period, management remains cautiously optimistic.
