Skroutz, Greece’s most popular marketplace, has announced “Skroutz Funding”, offering partner businesses immediate liquidity to support their growth.
According to the announcement, this new service gives stores the capital they need to bolster their stock and increase sales, while fully streamlining access to liquidity.
A total of 17 stores took part in the pilot, raising more than €500,000 in funding. According to the company, these businesses recorded average turnover growth at a rate up to three times faster than competitors in the same categories.
Funding criteria and process
Businesses that have operated on the Skroutz platform for at least 12 months, generate annual turnover of more than €50,000 and demonstrate strong operational performance can use the new service.
Stores that meet these criteria are automatically shown a specific pre-approved funding amount in their store management page (Partner Area) on the platform, with no application process or fee. The offer remains available for 30 days.
The amount of pre-approved funding is calculated automatically based on the profile of the store on the platform, including sales, operational performance, delivery speed, low return rates and compensation claims.
Funding is activated without any additional guarantees, subject only to the transfer of stock to the storage and order fulfilment service “Fulfilled by Skroutz (FBS)” at the Skroutz Hub. The commercial value of this stock must be at least equal to the funding amount.
The cost is fixed, with no hidden fees, while the precise charge is set individually for each merchant according to their overall profile.
Repayment is made through a fixed percentage withheld from sales and is synchronised with the store’s payment cycle. The maximum repayment term is six months.
The repayment instalment adjusts to turnover, helping protect liquidity during periods of lower activity, while periods of higher sales speed up repayment and eligibility for further refinancing.
Daily payments and faster deliveries
Businesses using Skroutz Funding gain additional payment management options. They can receive daily payments at no extra cost, and accelerated payments are also available for FBS orders.
At the same time, by placing stock in FBS warehouses, merchants can offer same-day or next-day delivery in major urban centres, enhancing the overall shopping experience.
With this new service, Skroutz is expanding its commercial tools, giving partner businesses the solutions they need to plan their next stage of growth with stability and flexibility.
