GEK TERNA is strengthening its presence in Ukraine with a new strategic agreement in the energy sector following the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the country's state natural gas company, Naftogaz.
The new deal, which was signed on June 25 on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdansk, Poland, opens the way for the Greek group's participation in natural gas, energy storage and renewable energy projects.
At the same time, a second Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Gdansk between DP Pumps Group and Naftogaz, concerning water infrastructure projects and pumping systems for power generation stations and other energy facilities.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement between TERNA S.A. and Naftogaz provides for the development of cooperation for the implementation of natural gas and energy storage projects, as well as renewable energy projects in the Odessa region.
Accordingly, the agreement between DP PUMPS GROUP and Naftogaz concerns the implementation of water infrastructure projects, pumping systems for power generation stations and other energy facilities.
These agreements lay the foundations for the active participation of Greek entrepreneurship in the reconstruction of Ukraine in the critical sectors of energy and infrastructure. At the same time, their implementation is expected to contribute substantially to strengthening the country's energy security, at a time when its needs remain particularly high due to the ongoing war.
