PPA S.A. welcomed on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Organization’s headquarters, a delegation from the Hellenic Retail Business Association (SELPE), headed by the President of SELPE and of PLAISIO S.A., Mr. Kostas Gerardos. The subject of the meeting was issues concerning the operation of the Port of Piraeus and the prospects for further cooperation between the two bodies.
As the relevant announcement notes, the delegation was welcomed by the Deputy CEOs of PPA S.A., Mr. Angelos Karakostas and Mr. Panagiotis Tsonis. During the meeting, views were exchanged regarding the operation of the port, the effective servicing of cargo traffic, as well as developments in the transport, supply chain, and retail trade sectors.
The representatives of SELPE were informed about the operational capabilities and modern infrastructure of the Port of Piraeus, which plays a strategic role as a key hub of the country and the wider Southeastern Europe region.
As part of the visit, a tour followed of the main sectors of the port’s operation, while at the same time the facilities, operational procedures, and the capabilities offered by Piraeus in supporting cargo activity as well as the supply chain were presented.
The visit took place in a particularly positive atmosphere and confirmed the importance of continuous cooperation, with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness, outward orientation, and sustainable development of the Greek economy.
