OTE is proceeding with the adoption and pilot implementation of new, flexible forms of employment, taking another step toward creating a modern, people-centered working environment. The new options in the organization of employment have as their main goal facilitating the daily lives of employees and the balance between personal and professional life.
They are voluntary and each is applied for a specific period of time, taking into account operational needs. The flexible forms of employment have been shaped in cooperation with employee representatives and constitute the content of a relevant Company Collective Labor Agreement.
The possibility of making use of the new forms of employment will begin on a pilot basis in the IT and HR Business Units, with the aim of evaluating, by the end of the year, their extension to all OTE employees.
For specific periods of time and according to their respective needs, employees will have the possibility of:
- allocating daily working hours between physical presence and teleworking, while maintaining the daily eight-hour schedule and the weekly 40-hour schedule,
- four-day ten-hour employment, while maintaining the 40-hour weekly schedule and granting one additional day of rest,
- flexible allocation of working hours within the week, with the possibility of accumulating working time and using it at a later time as additional recreational leave,
- remote work from any country of the European Union, making use of an additional percentage of teleworking beyond the existing framework,
- temporary reduction of daily working hours, by up to four hours per day, with a corresponding proportional adjustment of remuneration.
On the occasion of the introduction of the new, flexible forms of employment, Mr. Panos Tsiantoulas, Chief People Officer of the OTE Group, stated: “At OTE we believe that a modern working environment is based on trust, flexibility and respect for people’s needs. We are testing new flexible forms of employment, giving our employees the opportunity to better organize their time and daily lives, while at the same time maintaining high levels of cooperation, responsibility and effectiveness. We continue to evolve together with our people, investing in practices that respond to today’s needs and shape a modern employment environment.”
At the same time, in consultation with employee representatives and to strengthen the existing regulatory framework, the Policy against Violence and Harassment was also incorporated into the Internal Staff Regulation, with the signing of a relevant Company Collective Labor Agreement.
