A discussion on the present and future of eCommerce in Europe was held on June 17 at Gazarte by two leading representatives of the European eCommerce ecosystem and members of the board of directors of the Greek eCommerce Association (GR.EC.A).
Participating in the panel discussion were Gero Furchheim, president of Ecommerce Europe and President of the German E-Commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association (bevh), together with Luca Cassetti, secretary general of Ecommerce Europe, conveying the overall European picture of the changes shaping the sector.
From the board of directors of GR.EC.A, participating were Dr. Katerina Fraidaki, president of GR.EC.A, Makis Savvidis, vice president of GR.EC.A, and Fotini Skapinaki, member of the board of GR.EC.A.
The discussion highlighted the significant challenges that eCommerce businesses face today, as well as the opportunities created through the evolution of technology, the growth of cross-border sales, and the shaping of a more unified European framework for the digital market.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation at the European level, on maintaining equal terms of competition, and on the need for businesses in the sector to have an active role in the discussions that affect their operation and development.
The presence of the representatives of Ecommerce Europe, together with the participation of the members of the board of directors of GR.EC.A, confirmed the association’s close relationship with the European eCommerce ecosystem and the importance of connecting the Greek market with the developments and policies being shaped at the European level.
